Grain Commodity Futures Market Update

The grain futures appear to have held at support last week, which should strengthen the chance of a continued uptrend like I was predicting.

Chicago wheat futures are holding, just watch the support level.

Corn futures appear to be holding too.

Oat futures dropped below support a little, but with the strength of the other markets holding them above support, I figured it was only a false breakout.

Soybean futures are still going strong. Hopefully we’ll see them break above resistance soon.

I’ve got access to my rough rice charts again so I’ll start reporting on rice again. I haven’t been watching the rice market lately so I’ll need to get a feel for the market again. Right now the indicators for rice appear to be rising but the price action isn’t looking very good. But the other grains seem to be gathering strength and rice may begin to strengthen too.

March Chicago wheat futures closed Friday at 557.0, down 11¢ for the week.

March corn futures closed Friday at 377.2, down 1.8¢ for the week.

March oat futures closed Friday at 195.0, down 10¢ for the week.

March soybean futures closed Friday at 10.010, up .210¢ for the week.

March rough rice futures closed Friday at 12.785
