Grain Commodity Futures Analysis

Just a quick update. Things have been going good in the grains so far, so I have laid off the posts, but indicators are now starting to make me cautious about a re-tracement.

It would be hard to estimate any size of a re-tracement because the upward indicators have been strong and it’s hard to say if the movement is over ( because it may go a little higher) but the profits have been good over the last month so if you don’t take profits soon, at least keep you stops close.

Chicago wheat indicators are not so strong on a re-tracement, still, I would keep a close stop in case another market brings it down.

Corn futures are not looking so good and may be seeing a re-tracement. I’m not talking about the whole rally, but you may want to keep your profits.

Oat futures have done well but appear to have run out of steam. They could drop or trade sideways for a while. If you have any options, I would take profits. You can get back in when the market starts up again.

Soybeans have been awesome for the last month. It’s kind of hard to make a definite call on beans right now because the indicators are moving lower, but haven’t given a definite signal. Soybeans are highly volatile, and have a way of tricking you and may keep going up, but with the other things going on, I would at least keep a close stop.

Rice futures have moved to the bottom of the channel and indicators are up. If you want to gamble you could buy some calls and hope rice breaks above the channel on it’s way up. Kinda like buying a lottery ticket. (only a little better odds)

I think rice will break up when it does go, but I am not sure when, so I am not making a definite call here.
